Built for the Water

Louisiana’s premier source for marine-grade lumber engineered to last a lifetime in the harshest coastal conditions.

Built for the South

When your project is on the water, you can’t compromise. Louisiana’s unique environment of constant moisture, high humidity, and direct water exposure demands more than standard lumber. Untreated wood can fail in years, not decades, succumbing to rot, warping, and marine borers.

Abita Lumber provides specialty marine-grade, high-retention CCA treated lumber specifically engineered for our climate. We deliver the unmatched strength and durability your project demands, ensuring your dock, pier, or seawall withstands the test of time.

Lumber That Withstands the Elements

When you build with Abita, you build with confidence. Our marine lumber is sourced and treated to provide maximum structural integrity in the most demanding environments.

Maximum Durability

Our lumber is built to endure saltwater, heavy wear, and constant UV exposure without compromising its integrity. Unlike standard wood, our marine-grade products are manufactured to resist rot, warping, and delamination.

Rot & Borer Resistant

We provide wood that is chemically protected to ward off the fungi, bacteria, and aggressive marine borers (like shipworms) that destroy untreated wood in our waters.

Unmatched Structural Strength

Ideal for all structural applications, from deep-set pilings and bulkheads to dock framing and seawalls. We stock full-size, rough-cut lumber for maximum, reliable strength.

The Right Product for Your Job

Not all treated lumber is the same. The “retention level” (e.g., .80 or 2.5) tells you how much preservative is in the wood, determining exactly where it can be used. We stock the heavy-duty levels you need for serious marine projects.

2.5 CCA: Saltwater Immersion

This is the gold standard for marine construction. With the highest retention of Chromated Copper Arsenate (CCA), this lumber is specifically engineered for full and repeated saltwater immersion. It is the only choice for protecting against aggressive marine borers.

  • Common Applications:
  • Structural Pilings (Saltwater)
  • Seawalls & Bulkheads
  • Saltwater Docks & Piers
  • Boat Lifts & Structures
.80 CCA: Ground & Freshwater Contact

This heavy-duty treatment is your go-to solution for structural components that are in contact with the ground, fresh water, or are in high-decay environments. It offers robust protection against rot and insects for non-saltwater applications.

  • Common Applications:
  • Freshwater Docks & Piers
  • Structural Posts & Poles (Ground Contact)
  • Retaining Walls
  • Permanent Wood Foundations
